Thai Muang Beach and More
Above: Natai
Beach just north of Phuket - only four kilometers from the bridge
Just up the road
from Phuket - and right off the island are even more beautiful
beaches, isolated, rarely visited by tourists - and all yours. Most
involve a short drive off Phuket, but all are worth the drive!
For a starter -
check Thai Muang Beach. The Town of Thai Muang is on highway 4 -
straight north off the island. Follow the signs for Khao Lak. Once
in Thai Muang (about 15 minutes up the road once off the island)
continue until you come to a sharp right-hand turn to Khao Lak - a
sign there will indicate that if you go straight you will go to the
Thai Muang Golf Course. Go straight.
When you see the golf course,
continue straight for about one kilometer - and you'll come to a
wonderful long native beach. The photo blow right is of Thai Muang
Beach. You'll love it!

As
soon as you cross the bridge to the mainland - you can start
scouting the local roads to local beaches. Up the road about ten
minutes is the turn off to the Hot Springs Hotel. They have a very
interesting beach - as well as hot springs.
There is also a nice
restaurant sitting almost over the water beach side. It is a
pleasant country drive back into the resort - and the sea there
makes it worth the effort! Along the way you'll see several very
nice houses sitting right on the beach - the early pioneers who
discovered the beauty of this area!
